Northumberland Council Community Chest Grant

The Community Chest Scheme aims to deliver funded projects which bene t the community and local areas. Environmental protection and improvement projects will be classed as priority cases, as will community projects and the promoting of health and wellbeing.

Any voluntary, community or not-for-pro t group or organisation (including charities), based in or serving communities of Northumberland, is eligible to apply.

Suitable Projects

Suitable Projects

Project types are not specified, but they must meet the following criteria:

  • Seen as valuable to the area
  • Are not able to secure mainstream funding from the council or other sources

Higher priority will be given to:

  • Projects submitted by small community groups, de ned as having an income of less than £10,000 per year and no paid staff
  • Development of sustainable, long-term projects
  • New grant applicants

  • Email or postal applications are accepted

Grants of up to £10,000 are applicable, with the average grant being £2,500.
