Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland – Community Grant Programme

The Halifax Foundation is committed to supporting underfunded, grassroots charities which particularly enable the disabled or disadvantaged to play a more active role in society.

The foundation has two main target areas in which it seeks to allocate funds:

  • Social and Community needs
  • Education and Training
Eligible Organisations

Eligible Organisations

Only registered charities who have an income of less than £1million in the previous year’s accounts, may apply. For registered charities with a headquarters based outside of Northern Ireland, the income of their Northern Ireland operation, shown in their management accounts, will be used.

A rolling grant programme is in operation, and therefore an organisation can apply to the Foundation at any time.

The average grant is between £3,000 and £4,000.
