Whatever the environment, A&S Landscape will be able to work with you to provide a shelter that meets your needs! And that’s exactly what we did when installing this blue playground canopy in Clive, Shropshire.
Clive School now have a smart Motiva Mono, 6000mm x 4000mm in a playful Blue (RAL5002) that has given them an outdoor learning area for their younger pupils and some sheltered outdoor play space for older children so they can still enjoy the outdoors on their lunch, whatever the weather.
It was a delight to work with everybody at Clive School and despite the small area they needed an outdoor shelter installing in, we were more than able to tailor our product to meet their needs.

Why is playing outdoors so important for the social and physical development of children and how can we allow them to spend more outside?
Play is the centre of childhood, a time when children are well and inarguably being themselves, but for a great number of children the chance to play outside, enjoying exercise and fresh air, is restricted. Today’s generation of children aged 4-11 years spend many hours playing computer games, on iPads and watching TV and so this precious period of activity is more crucial than ever to balance long hours inside in front of a screen. Astonishing recent research show that a third of children play outside for 30 minutes or less in a standard day. That’s less time outside than prison inmates get! Of the 1,000 UK families who took part in the survey, 82% blamed the unreliable British weather.
Promoting more outdoor play is not just about the physical element of their health though. Active play during the school day are also helping children’s mental wellbeing. It demonstrates to them how to air their thoughts and feelings and listen to those of others. The practice of expressing themselves, taking risks and sharing are all key stepping stones on the path to approaching adulthood with the skills to discuss, debate and empathise.
