Winsford High Street Primary School in Winsford, Cheshire, is a growing and popular school. Growth in pupil numbers over recent years has seen the total of children attending the school increasing to over 500. Increases in pupil numbers has an obvious impact on the school’s facilities. In recent years Winsford High Street Primary School has developed their estate to include a new suite of offices as well as a new block of classrooms to accommodate children in the Early Years and KS1 groups.
Growing pupil numbers can mean that headteachers need to be agile in developing the school site, and getting the most out of every inch of the campus is a must. So, when the opportunity arose for Winsford High Street Primary School to bid for a playground canopy cover from A&S Landscape, they jumped at the chance. They knew that the installation of a canopy cover in the playground would enhance the existing outdoor environment even more.
Sometimes a situation will arise for one of our customers and they are forced to cancel their order. Or perhaps they have had to make additional changes on their site and an existing canopy cover no longer fits their needs. The flexible nature of a canopy installation means that nothing ever needs to go to waste.
So, we often have offers open to the highest bidder. This enables us to give existing and new clients the opportunity to put themselves forward to win the bidding and buy the canopy themselves. It is a great way to ensure that solid structures that still have years of practical use ahead of them can be re-used, or for a brand new canopy to be put to good use on a different site.
Bidding for a new or used canopy cover is easy, and there is often a range of different structures available. Winsford High Street Primary School were successful in bidding for a Maxima Sail™ canopy cover measuring 14000 mm x 7000 mm. Sadly, the original order was cancelled, but for Winsford High Street Primary School it was definitely a great opportunity to obtain a brand-new shelter solution. Their bid was not only to purchase the sail canvas and steelwork, but also for full installation, and it fitted perfectly in their chosen location.
Winsford High Street Primary School have made a huge impression on their outdoor space with the installation of this great sun shelter. This particular canopy cover was manufactured in Slate Grey (RAL 7015) with a Buttercup and Victoria Blue coloured sail canvas, which worked really well in creating a fun and bright vibe in the playground. Children playing beneath the canopy will now be shaded from the hot sun during the summer months. The tensile fabric structure really does make the fabric shade cloth look like a sail, adding to the sense of fun and imagination. It is perfect for a playground area.
“A&S Landscape were very good, communicated well during the process. We engaged in lots of emails to ensure that they were fulfilling what we wanted.
The canopy has had a real impact on the area. The children can now sit outside in all weathers, sheltering from the sun and from the rain.”
