Covered Dining Area at Wolverley CE Secondary School in Kidderminster

Posted on 19/08/2019

Wolverley CE Secondary School had been growing rapidly and needed additional space for students at lunchtime. A canopy was chosen as the best cost-effective solution.

Project – Wolverley CE Secondary School in Kidderminster build new outdoor dining canopy

ProductMotiva Duo

Requirement – Wolverley CE Secondary School needed to create an additional dining area at their school. The school were keen to utilise the outdoors and create a large space with plenty of seating and a catering pod which could serve snacks and drinks to students.

Solution – They settled on a curved roof Duo canopy from the Motiva range of steel and polycarbonate shelters. This canopy benefits from integrated gutters and downpipes to ensure that rainwater is effectively managed. At a size of 10m x 10m, the dining canopy has plenty of space for benches as well as the catering pod. This means that different groups of students can use the area throughout the school day, right across the year. The structure looks smart and has made a real difference to students at break times as well as taking pressure off existing dining facilities inside the school.

Result – The students are really pleased with the new dining option at their school. The outdoor catering pod serves additional snacks and drinks so that students can choose a different kind of dining experience to that offered in the main dining hall. On sunny days the pupils can enjoy some shade while they eat and catch up with friends at lunch at break times. In the winter months, they can still enjoy the fresh air while being protected from any wet weather.
