The pupils of Northmuir Primary School already enjoyed their fantastic facilities inside the school. To further improve upon their experience, the staff decided to invest in making their outside space more accessible.

Requirement – Northmuir Primary School is located in the small town of Kirriemuir, Scotland. The school has brilliant learning spaces, including a music and art room, and a dedicated nursery corner. The teaching team wanted the pupils to be able to spend more time outdoors in the playground too. A&S Landscape was bought on board to design, manufacture and install a suitable shelter.

Solution – Two straight roof canopies were added at different areas on the school grounds. The Motiva Linear shelters have created plenty of covered room for many pupils to play underneath at once. Finished with subtle Slate Grey steelwork, the canopies work perfectly with the surrounding area. The clear polycarbonate roofing also allows a safe level of sunlight through, while blocking harmful UV rays.

Result – The lucky pupils of Northmuir Primary School love their new playground canopy. Break times can be spent outside in the fresh air, no matter the weather conditions. The teachers can also take their classes outdoors to provide an alternative learning environment.
