Part of having the best campus and setting is having provision for being outdoors. Everyone knows how much children love to be in the fresh air. When A&S Landscape was approached to add some shade and shelter by installing some canopies, we were pleased to talk through the design options that are available.

There are many design options and considerations when you want to add a canopy, and in this instance, a fabric roofed canopy from our Maxima range was chosen. The Maxima Tepee canopy has a steel frame and fabric roof. Fabric roofs are available in shade cloth or PVC. PVC offers shade from UV rays and it is waterproof, this was chosen in bright red for the Wright Robinson Sports College Tepees. Each tepee measured 6000mm x 6000mm. The steelwork was (RAL 7037) and this meant that the school colours had been matched. What a smart way to maintain the school branding.

The Benefits of Eating Outdoors and Its Effect on Student Welfare

Spending time outdoors increases Vitamin D levels (an important hormone that helps to protect against a series of diseases such as osteoporosis, depression, heart attacks and stroke). It is revealed in research that many of us do not get enough of this important vitamin, so more time outside is vital to help confront this deficiency.

With the longest break in the school day being the lunch break, a great solution is alfresco dining. More and more schools are improving their outdoor areas, erecting outdoor dining spaces, with canopies, shade sails, umbrellas and even enclosed outdoor dining rooms. With rising pupil numbers, this is a solution to the increased pressure that existing dining rooms come under as schools grow.

St Agnes CE Primary School Add Straight Roof School Canopy

In combination with an authorised reseller our team built a straight polycarbonate roof canopy at St Agnes CE Primary School, 50 Hamilton Road, Longsight, Manchester. The contract included the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight coloured polycarbonate roof canopy (system 60) measuring 8m X 6m with Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes in matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.

St Peters CE Primary School Add Three Fabric Shade Sails

In collaboration with an authorised reseller we designed three triangle sails for St Peters CE Primary School, Swinton, Manchester. The job involved one 7000mm X 7000mm Maxima™ tensile shade cloth fabric sail structure comprising of three triangle sails on five uprights including for all stainless steel fixtures and fittings.

Curved Roof Canopy Designed for Royal Mail Middleton

Working for our building contractor client A&S made a curved roof canopy in Royal Mail Middleton 53 Manchester New Road, Middleton, Manchester. The contract included one Motiva™ Mono monopitch curved roof canopy measuring 5000mm X 2500mm and included for our Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes in matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.

Horwich Parish C Of E Primary School Add School Shelter to Playground

Working with the specialist building contractor we constructed a straight polycarbonate roof canopy for Horwich Parish Church Of England Primary School, Horwich, Greater Manchester. The contract included the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 10115mm X 3750mm with Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes which were coated in a matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.

Shade Sail Designed for Weston Halls

In combination with our building contractor client our engineers produced a shade sail structure for Weston Halls, Manchester, Greater Manchester. The job involved one 3696mm x 2818mm Maxima™ tensile shade cloth fabric sail structure comprising of one triangle sail on three uprights including for all stainless steel fixtures and fittings with 3 post protector pads.

St Catherines Academy Install Straight Roof Polycarbonate Shelter

Working alongside the specialist building contractor our engineers made a straight polycarbonate roof canopy at St Catherines Academy Greenroyd Avenue, Bolton, Greater manchester. The full contract involved the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy and included for our Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes which were coated in a matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.

Nursery Canopies Installed at Kids Planet Day Nursery

In collaboration with our building contractor client our team created three straight polycarbonate roof canopies in Kids Planet Day Nursery, Worlsey, Manchester, Greater Manchester.
