Project Specification

What was the project brief?

Jinnah Restaurant in Harrogate, North Yorkshire needed a bespoke dining shelter to help it increase its capacity for customers wanting to eat outdoors all year round while perfectly suiting its needs. This family-owned company has five restaurants in the Yorkshire region and is focused on introducing its traditional Kashmiri Pakistani cuisine to more people. It was therefore essential that this branch could make an extensive space that covered many tables of diners while enjoying their meals, even if it was raining outside, and that it was a stylish, interesting structure that would improve the restaurant’s atmosphere and encourage customers to return.

What was our shelter solution?

All bespoke canopy projects require careful consideration and lots of back and forth between client and provider to design the perfect product. This was no exception but the final choice was a bespoke Motiva Linear Lite™. This is an aluminium version of our Motiva Linear™ model, which is well-suited to hospitality and residential settings and has options for glass or polycarbonate construction as well as many roof colours. We created this customer’s product to their specific requirements, diverging from our regular designs and building a spectacular dining shelter with an Anthracite Grey framework and a Clear roof to let in lots of light for an airy feel. There was plenty of space to set tables and chairs there for diners to enjoy an alfresco experience with their meals, regardless of the season.

What was the result of the bespoke dining shelter?

The restaurant was thoroughly pleased with its dining canopy and how it has allowed them to accommodate more customers and bring its food to more residents and visitors in Yorkshire. The structure has elevated the dining experience for those seated beneath it outside, as its bright, open feel is very inviting and it highlights the beautiful architecture of the old converted school which houses the eatery itself. It has become a real asset that will surely encourage regular visits from locals. Plus, the bespoke element of the shelter was incredibly useful in adapting it to the specific area while keeping the reliable, all-weather nature of A&S Landscape products at the fore.
