What was the project brief?

Riverside Bridge School in Barking wanted to purchase a cycle shelter where they could store bikes belonging to staff and students. They wanted it to have side panels and gates to keep out the wind and rain, provide enough space for ten bicycles, and have an appealing, modern design. A&S Landscape was pleased to be contacted by the school and soon got to work on narrowing down the options to source the perfect shelter.

What was our cycle shelter solution?

Bike shelter we designed for Riverside Bridge SchoolFollowing talks with A&S Landscape about what they wanted from their cycle store, Riverside Bridge School chose to add a Cyclo Bike™ to their grounds. Marine Blue steelwork and an Opal roof worked together to create an attractive, sleek design, which also complemented a previous canopy that A&S Landscape had installed at the site – a Maxima Umbrella™ which was a wonderful playground facility. The staff decided on the Cyclo Bike™ because of its array of customisation options; their model was installed with a double pair of gates and clear side panels to ensure everyone’s bikes were kept safe and dry. Built to specifications of 8400mm X 2400mm, there was space inside to store ten cycles in five racks, so many students and members of staff could use it on a daily basis.

What was the result of the new canopy?

Riverside Bridge School loves the cycle store. It is a smart, modern addition to their outdoor facilities, and it means that anyone cycling to the school doesn’t have to worry about how to ensure that their bike is secure and protected from the elements throughout the day. Plus, the shelter keeps the areas around the school buildings neat and tidy. A&S Landscape was thrilled to have completed a second successful project at this institution and hopes that the Cyclo Bike™ will encourage even more staff and students to start cycling.
