Monkston Primary School, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire add a Bold, Bright Shade Sail
Monkston Primary School already had a lovely outdoor area for their pupils but the existing shade sail was very tired and ready to be replaced. The school contacted A&S Landscape, who has more than 40 years’ experience working with schools and we were more than happy to help. Monkston Primary School in Milton Keynes thought carefully and decided upon the Yellow waterproof option. What a great way to cheer up an outdoor space. The children now have a fabulous new area in which to play and learn, whatever the weather. How the social and emotional development of children is impacted by regularly playing outside
A common but under-researched realm of social and emotional development in children is appreciating the importance of spending time outdoors and how considerable the effects are. For such an essential aspect of childhood, the gaps in research here are somewhat staggering. Not least because, the research that currently exists confirms that there is unmistakable evidence that outdoor time, like outdoor play, or outdoor classrooms, has a considerable positive impact on a child’s social and emotional development. Working with a leading builder our engineers made a straight polycarbonate roof canopy for Millbrook Combined School, Mill End Road, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The contract included the supply and installation of one Motiva™ monopitch straight roof canopy measuring 8280mm X 3890/2000mm and included for our Alu-Tuff™ aluminium box profile guttering and downpipes which were coated in a matching Dura-coat™ colour finish.
