Covered Play Area for Blackmarston School Hereford

The builders working on Blackmarston School brought us in to install five 3000mm x 3000mm Maxima Umbrellas for the children’s play areas. With one eye on practicality and another on bold design, we worked with them to choose a colour scheme that really stands out. With steelwork in bright, clean white (RAL 9010) they didn’t want each product to look exactly the same, so chose fabric in buttercup, lagoon and aniseed. Great choices!

Playgrounds can become hazardous for a wide range of assorted factors. Unsafe behaviour is most definitely something that teachers and students alike should be on the lookout for. But together with protecting children from the elements, uneven and improper surfaces can also cause slips – and unsafe or faulty outdoor equipment can hastily turn the fun sour.

It’s supposed that in the UK alone, around 40,000 children are hurt by playground accidents. A great number of these even end up in the hospital or A&E, making it pivotal that schools do everything they can to impose proper playground safety. UK schools across the country have difficulties with making their playgrounds as safe as possible – fortunately, a lot of these accidents can be avoided with observant supervision.

Supply and installation of 57 sqm of dark blue rubber surfacing underneath the canopy and installation of kerb lines.
