Requirement – Christ’s College in East Finchley, London describes itself as “a modern, forward-looking school that combines cutting edge provision in teaching and learning with traditional values”. To ensure that the school had adequate dining provision for all students they decided to add an outdoor dining canopy. This would provide a large all-weather seating area in addition to the dining hall. Initially, they wanted the structure to be timber so that it worked in harmony with the natural environment.
