Old Oak Primary School Red Canopy
When we put children in places that give them cause to wonder, we’re giving them permission to create, which means whatever new structures we install in a space must build on everything that is already in place.

Project – Maxima Shade Sail used to provide shade at Old Oak Primary School

Product – Maxima Sail

Requirement – At A&S Landscape we think that all outdoor spaces can inspire. What we aim for is an environment that excites, delights and is full of imagination.

When we put children in places that give them cause to wonder, we’re giving them permission to create, which means whatever new structures we install in a space must build on everything that is already in place.

Old Oak Primary School is a community school located in London. Old Oak has a traditional ethos but combines this with cutting edge teaching and learning. They know what they’re doing and they know what they want, which is why they called in A&S Landscape to install a new outdoor dining canopy.

Solution – We installed a Maxima Shade Sail with bold, blue steelwork (RAL5010) and playful Cherry Red tensile shade cloth. With the addition of four light blue post pads, this structure is both aesthetically pleasing and totally safe.

Result – It is important to realise that nothing is ever just a sum of its parts. This Maxima Shade Sail is not just steel and fabric. When seen in situ, it’s a functional, yet whimsical design that offers an enjoyable place to eat or play, protecting from direct sunlight and rain whilst feeding the imagination of everybody around.

Find Out More – There are so many decisions to make when adding a new outdoor canopy for play or learning to your school, the most important of which is ‘how do I want people to feel when using it?’.

There are so many different types of playground shelters and dining area covers and each one will feel a little different.

Do you want to provide strong, confident design or softer, more playful cover. Whatever you choose, you’ll get the same outstanding protection from the elements but both will offer a different experience for your students.
