Uprights on the Maxima Sail are manufactured to suit application in either straight or curved-form. All steelwork on this shade sail available in Dura-coat™ finish to any RAL colour
Uprights can be root fixed, base plate fixed onto preformed bases or installed into precast sockets. Normally the fabric for the shade sail would be measured and manufactured after upright installation. Please speak to our technical department for more information

Whilst a popular design A & S Landscape do not actually recommend triangular shaped sails. Any true tension membrane structure has a minimum of 4 attachment points with sufficient height difference, this allows 3 dimensional shape in the fabric thus obtaining even tension (pre stress) over the surface of the fabric. No matter how high or low each attachment point the triangular fabric surface is still in a flat 2D shape. You need the forth attachment point and height difference to generate a 3D shape. Flat structures over time stretch with gravity load and sag between the catenary wires resulting in the fabric flapping in the wind increasing the corner attachment loads. Waterproof PVC structures can then pond with rainwater which is why we do not price these. The amount of shaded area produced by triangular structures is also poor because of the narrow angles at the corners produced when the catenary cable edge curvature is installed.
Please also note that due to the tensioning mechanisms and the curvature of the sail the actual area of coverage will be significantly less than the area between the uprights.
Unlimited design possibilities with multiple sails and posts/wall fixings, Single sails over 8000mm x 8000mm will not normally be suitable for year round use.
Steelwork is galvanised only or finished in Dura-coatTM colour finish to any RAL colour. Shade cloth material is available in 14 colours, PVC fabric available in 40 colours. Post pads can be any colour, often contrasting with the structure.

Full site surveys, CAD drawings and project management are all part of our standard service. Early technical involvement can generally provide a better solution.
