York Inpatient Facility in Yorkshire Installs Two Bespoke Canopies

York Inpatient Facility thought that the pair of bespoke canopies was ideal for their requirements. They increased organisation and created safe areas in which to store trolleys and waste, which also had modern designs and could shield everything within from the rain and wind.

What was the project brief?

York Inpatient Facility in Yorkshire had the idea to install a pair of shelters in their outdoor areas – a trolley canopy and a waste enclosure canopy. They wanted them to make the space organised and tidy, as well as have sides and lockable doors to keep things safe and out of sight.

They contacted A&S Landscape to find out which products could help them to achieve these goals, and the company had a wide range ready for them to choose from.

What were our bespoke canopy solutions?

Enclosed shelter we designed for York Inpatient FacilityFollowing the consideration of different shelters and designs, York Inpatient Facility decided on the Motiva Linear™ for both of their canopies. They picked out Goosewing Grey for the steelwork and Clear polycarbonate for the roofs, which created a subtle look that didn’t attract too much attention and blended into their outside space. The Motiva Linear™ has a monopitch (asymmetric) design where one side is higher than the other and a Dura-coat™ finish to ensure that canopies remain high-quality products for years to come. The straight roofs also provided excellent protection from the elements, so the trolleys and waste stored inside the bespoke shelters would stay dry year-round. Built to measure 9000mm X 4000mm for the trolley canopy and 7000mm X 5000mm for the waste enclosure canopy, these products were large enough to easily meet the facility’s storage needs. A&S Landscape installed them with sides and lockable doors to keep everything secure and prevent the areas from becoming cluttered.

Why are healthcare site canopies so popular and what benefits do they have?

More and more healthcare sites are deciding to add canopies to their facilities, from ambulance depots to doctor’s surgeries. But why are healthcare shelters increasing in demand so rapidly? Shelters can have lots of purposes and bring many benefits to healthcare sites, from providing a covered outdoor seating area for the patients to enjoy to creating covered walkways around large sites. Many site managers are recognising canopies as a cost-effective way of improving their sites and getting more use from their external areas.

What was the result of the new shelters?

York Inpatient Facility thought that the pair of bespoke canopies was ideal for their requirements. They increased organisation and created safe areas in which to store trolleys and waste, which also had modern designs and could shield everything within from the rain and wind. A&S Landscape was pleased to discover that they could add these shelters to their successful bespoke Motiva canopy projects, which have provided organisations with clever, personalised shelter solutions. The company hopes that the hard-working staff at the Yorkshire facility will get great use out of the canopies and that they will help to make their working lives a little easier.
