Foss Park Hospital contacted A&S Landscape, as they were looking to work with a supplier to provide a reliable canopy solution for their covered walkway, linking the main building with several key areas across the courtyard, including the pharmacy, and linen storage area. The hospital required a solution that would keep staff dry and comfortable throughout the year, throughout rainy and snowy seasons.
We provided our Motiva Linear™ design, a monopitch straight roof canopy that is one of our most adaptable and popular designs for outdoor covered areas. We created an L-shaped configuration, measuring 12434mm x 2577mm x 2000mm, providing continuous shelter around the perimeter of the courtyard. The Opal polycarbonate roofing allows natural light through into the area, whilst the Grey White Duracoat™ steelwork offers a smart, and durable finish. The final result is a low-maintenance, long-lasting solution with a bespoke fit to suit the hospital’s space.

Outdoor covered walkways are installed for more than just aesthetic benefit! Walkway canopies are a practical investment in the safety and wellbeing of staff, visitors, and students alike. Whether the canopy connects two buildings, provides shelter to entrances, or covers a ramped disabled access, these structures offer year-round protection from poor weather such as rain, hail, and snow; thus significantly reducing the risk of slips, trips, and falls.
Our covered walkway canopies are installed with Alu-Tuff™ guttering, a system that collects precipitation and directs this away from the designated pathway – to a safer area or drain. This helps to keep pathways and ramps dry and safe, reducing the risk of water freezing into slippery ice that could cause accidents and injuries during the winter months.
