What was the project brief?

Greenmount Primary School in Beeston, Leeds was trying to source an enclosed shelter that could enhance their outdoor space and provide its pupils with more options for play, dining and learning. The staff wanted the canopy to have two sets of doors, include both heating and lighting, and have an attractive, efficient design that would keep out any bad weather. They contacted A&S Landscape and the company soon got to work on finding the ideal solution.

What was our outdoor canopy solution?

After discussing the qualities of various models with A&S Landscape, Greenmount Primary School asked them to install a Motiva Linear™. This model was right for their needs because its efficient, durable design is built to last and its asymmetric straight roof makes it well-suited to applications like play and dining areas. Built to measure 8600mm X 7100mm and sporting three enclosed sides and two sets of double doors, the outdoor canopy could easily protect children and staff inside from the elements while eating, socialising or enjoying lessons. Plus, A&S Landscape added heating and lighting to ensure that it was always warm and well-lit, no matter the weather. The Moss Green steelwork and Opal roof looked modern and in keeping with the school buildings, and they brought something exciting and welcoming to the space.

What was the result of the shelter?

The outdoor canopy has been a hit at Greenmount Primary School. The facility has opened up opportunities for the children – whether it’s using it as an outdoor classroom shelter and experiencing a different kind of learning, or playing with their friends in a fun new area. Staff have set up seating inside, so it’s also an ideal space in which to spend break times and lunchtimes, and pupils don’t have to worry about rain or wind while eating, thanks to the enclosed design! A&S Landscape was thrilled to hear that the school was so happy with the results of this project.

Feedback

Why should you consider purchasing an enclosed shelter?

Enclosed dining area canopy at St Gabriels High SchoolEnclosed canopies can be used by organisations in many ways. They are incredibly versatile, and can become anything from a fantastic free standing canopy for dining or a helpful storage area to a covered play space or walkway. They have many options for customisation which means that they can be adapted to businesses’ needs. For example, you can add one or multiple doors – which also have electrical roller shutter options – and cover one or all of the sides with polycarbonate or glass. Another benefit of enclosed shelters is the range of designs and colours that they are available in. There is even a printed polycarbonate option that is perfect for schools, featuring designs like jungle and ocean scenes to spark pupils’ imaginations.
