What was the project brief?

European Metal Recycling was looking for a shade sail to help them create a wellbeing area for the hardworking staff at its recycling plant in Oldbury. The company has over 60 yards across the UK and it buys ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, scrap vehicles and more, which it then recycles through its efficient service. It was important that the shelter complemented its brand colours and the design had an appealing, relaxing effect. It needed to enable workers to take their welcome breaks outdoors whether they were in the heat of summer or on a rainy winter afternoon, so it had to have good coverage and a hard-wearing build too. Representatives from the facility contacted us to ask for our assistance and we were pleased to accept them as one of our clients.

What was our canopy solution?

We talked through the various options available and, after providing our expert advice, the Maxima StarSail™ was the winning model from our range. Thanks to its stylish design that combines reliable functionality with spectacular aesthetics, the Maxima StarSail™ is a fantastic addition to any outdoor space. We added Gentian Blue steelwork which worked well with the company’s branding, alongside an Autumn roof which provided a calming and welcoming feel. The 6000mm X 6000mm measurements also meant that there was plenty of room for staff to take a breather and recuperate in the fresh air beneath the shade sail, even if it was raining.

What was the result of the shade sail?
