Shade sail we fitted at The Perse SchoolThe Perse School say of themselves “At The Perse, our values shape what we do and how we do it. Alongside endeavour and scholarship, we promote balance, well-being and perspective.”

The effort, consideration and investment in their new outdoor dining area, adds to an already magnificent campus. A&S Landscape was pleased to create two StarSail canopies, which have created a lovely new space.

After a morning working hard in the classroom, the children can enjoy some fresh air and time outdoors, whether rain or shine. The area looks great too I am sure you will agree.

The Benefits of Eating Outdoors and Its Effect on Student Welfare

There is a lot of research that proves the benefits of spending time in the fresh air; alleviating heart rate, blood pressure, stress hormones and muscle tension. It can even enhance your mood. Enhancements in attention, memory and concentration have also been attested.

Spending time outdoors increases Vitamin D levels (an important hormone that helps to protect against a range of diseases such as osteoporosis, depression, heart attacks and stroke). It is presented in studies that many of us do not get a sufficient amount of this important vitamin, so more time outside is key to help manage this deficiency.

Continue reading our article to explore how schools can resolve this problem and encourage their students to spend more time outside.
