Walkway Canopies Installed at Hertford Regional College
Hertford Regional College in Ware has enhanced its campus with a series of sleek, practical canopies designed to keep students dry. The addition of covered walkways and some stylish dining shelters has greatly improved the student experience, creating a better flow between the areas and encouraging more time to be spent outdoors.

What was the project brief?
The college approached A&S Landscape with the need for weather protection along a sloped walkway section of the campus. They were looking for a customised, staggered canopy design that would suit the uneven terrain – allowing students to stay dry throughout the day. Additionally, the college sought a covered area to enhance their dining provision, giving students a social space to enjoy meals outdoors during the warmer months.
What was our canopy solution?
To meet the unique challenges of the site, we installed four Motiva Duo™ curved roof canopies in a stepped layout. This duo-pitch design is ideal for providing ample headroom and coverage over the pathway. Each canopy was finished with a Slate Grey Duracoat™ and an Opal polycarbonate roof, offering exceptional durability backed by our industry leading guarantees.
In addition to the covered walkway, we also supplied two Maxima Umbrella® fabric canopies in a vibrant raspberry shade. These eye-catching structures now serve as a covered dining area, creating an attractive and sheltered area for students to gather and eat outside in the summer.
Together, these installations have created both practical and aesthetic improvements to the school site.
