Outdoor Play Shelter Installed at St Monica’s RC Primary School in Manchester

St Monica’s RC Primary School in Manchester aimed to improve its outdoor facilities by creating a sheltered area that could be used throughout the year. With limited outdoor cover and a need to store and secure playground equipment, the school approached A&S Landscape for a practical, durable solution.

Our Solution:

To meet the school’s needs, we designed and installed a Motiva Linear™ canopy, a popular choice for educational settings due to its strength, simplicity and flexibility. The canopy structure was customised to provide not only shade and shelter, but also an enclosed space that could be securely locked when not in use.

 

Key Features and Materials:

  • Structure: Straight roof mono-pitch canopy
  • Sides: Enclosed with polycarbonate sides to two elevations, and two roller shutter doors that enable the canopy to enclosed and locked up, or opened up for unobstructed play.
  • Roofing: Opal Poly-tuff™ roofing, enabling light to diffuse into the area whilst irradicating harmful UV rays.
