Outdoor Dining Canopy Installed at Lynn Grove Academy
Lynn Grove Academy in Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, is a busy secondary academy that was facing mounting pressure during lunchtimes. To address overcrowding and improve student comfort, the school turned to A&S Landscape to create a functional and attractive covered dining space.

Challenges:
- Overcrowded Lunchtimes: Lynn Grove Academy teaches 1155 pupils and were looking for a solution to provide additional dining space in their outdoor area.
- Outdoor Queuing: Students had to queue outside the dining hall, which was uncomfortable during colder or wet weather.
- Pupil Experience: Lynn Grove Academy were looking for a solution that would enhance the overall pupil experience during breaktimes and lunchtimes.
Our Solution:
After working closely with the school, A&S Landscape proposed the installation of our Motiva Linear™ canopy for the school’s space – a robust and sleek mono-pitch structure ideal for dining and social areas.
Key Features and Materials:
- Structure: Mono-pitch straight roof canopy, measuring 8000mm X 8000mm, finished in a Moss Green™ Duracoat™.
- Roofing: Poly-tuff™ roofing, in the shade Opal, enabling light to diffuse into the area whilst blocking harmful UV rays.
Results:
- Created additional dining space for over 60 pupils
- Reduced congestion during lunchtimes, easing pressure on internal dining areas
- Improved student satisfaction and wellbeing thanks to better outdoor facilities
