Allscott Meads Primary in Shropshire Adds Outdoor Canopies

Representatives from this Shropshire site were thrilled with their three outdoor canopies. What was the project brief?

Allscott Meads Primary in Telford wanted a small collection of outdoor shelters befitting of its brand-new school. Built on the site of a former sugar beet factory and boasting an on-site nursery, wraparound childcare and many after school clubs, it aimed to have its modern new facilities shared by all. It felt that a colourful design on the canopies was important to make its outside spaces look cheerful and encourage play and creativity in its pupils out in the fresh air. As this customer was based near the A&S Landscape headquarters, we were especially excited to get to grips with this project and supply products that matched the quality of the new build.

What was our outdoor canopy solution?

After much consideration and discussion with the team at the institution, we installed three Motiva Linear™ shelters there. This monopitch asymmetric variant works brilliantly well as an outdoor canopy at everywhere from schools and colleges to parks and hospitals. We designed this client’s products with fantastically colourful roofs – featuring polycarbonate panels in Mint, Lagoon Blue, Mandarin, Daffodil and Poppy which created a rainbow effect and would look beautiful with sunlight streaming through them. Plus, Slate Grey steelwork set the bright shades off nicely with an understated contrast within these useful areas where children could have fun outdoors in all weathers.

What was the result of the shelters?

Representatives from this Shropshire site were thrilled with their three outdoor canopies. They looked forward to seeing their first pupils playing and making friends with classmates beneath them in rain or shine, and the vivid designs have brought colour and excitement to the space outside with the same high quality as the new buildings. Also, the matching structures have made for an atmosphere of unity there. Our team found supplying the shelters and making a difference to such a local community to be a real pleasure.

What other kinds of A&S Landscape canopies are useful for schools?

We sell a range of shelter solutions to meet any academic institution’s needs. Our dining canopies provide ways of extending space where pupils can eat at lunchtime and relieve pressure on existing facilities without breaking the budget through new buildings. Shade sails such as our Maxima Sail™ can encourage outdoor play and relaxation, making the most of grounds and adding focal points while offering protection from UV rays. What’s more, our playground shelters can remove the need for wet playtimes thanks to their durable construction and roofs, and our covered walkways create dry access so everyone can keep out of the rain when moving between buildings during breaks or between lessons. And, not to be forgotten are our entrance canopies that create positive, lasting first impressions on visitors and help them immediately find the way in.
