The Wixamtree Trust Grant

The Trust aims to focus its grant-giving support on organisations based in Bedfordshire or projects which benefit the people of this county. A small number of national charities with a focus on family social issues are also supported. It is a general grant-making trust, and grants are usually one-off payments, though groups can apply again after twelve months.

Eligible Organisations

Organisations must either be based or operating within the county of Bedfordshire. They must be either a registered charity or considered charitable by the Inland Revenue, and individuals cannot apply. Schools running projects in or serving Bedfordshire are also eligible, and only one grant can be given per organisation in any twelve-month period.

Suitable Projects

The Trust supports a wide range of costs, including learning, enrichment, and community projects, with examples like summer schools, minibuses, library spaces, and school resources.

Application Process

Once the online guidelines have been read and complied with, an online application should be completed and submitted. Applicants must upload recent accounts or a constitution, plus bank details, and funding decisions are made at quarterly Trustee meetings.

Important Dates

Future deadlines include midnight on 7th January 2026 for the February 2026 meeting, and Trustees usually meet in February, April, July, and October.

Funding Range

The usual funding range is between £1,000 and £10,000. However, there are some donations outside of this. Small grants of up to £3,000 or £4,000 may be awarded between meetings, but grants over 10% of running or project costs are rarely approved.
