The Roman Society
The Roman Society is the UK’s leading organisation dedicated to the study of Rome and the Roman Empire, and its Schools Committee provides grants to support and promote the teaching of Latin and Roman studies, with priority given to schools introducing new Latin courses.
Eligible Organisations
Schools across the United Kingdom that are teaching or planning to introduce Latin and Roman studies are eligible, with applications from schools beginning Latin courses particularly encouraged.
Suitable Projects
Grants are mainly awarded for the purchase of textbooks and resources, but the committee also offers grants for lecture or study days with a Roman or Latin theme, the start of new Latin courses, and archaeology fieldwork bursaries for students. However, one-off school trips, workshops, or events are not supported.

The application form can be found on their website. Completed application forms should be returned by email to the Secretary.
Important Dates
There are three deadlines per year – 1st February, 1st June, and 1st November.
