Scotmid Cooperative

Scotmid’s Community Grant scheme funds Scotland-based deserving causes. The funding must help a community served by a Scotmid store and local committee.

Eligible Organisations

Eligible groups include local community groups, voluntary groups, charities, and individuals acting for community benefit. Local branches of national charities can apply, and schools may apply for non-core activities only. Applicants must be Scotmid members and based within a community served by a Scotmid store.

Suitable Projects

Projects must address a community issue and benefit local people. The focus must fit areas like children, health, arts, environment, or active lifestyles. School projects can include playground upgrades or activities that encourage movement and community use. Past awards include funding for pre-school playground improvements in Inverness.

Application Process

An application form is available on the Scotmid website. Applications can be submitted at any time. An independent reference is required as part of the process.

Important Dates

Applications are open all year. You should apply at least eight weeks before funds are needed, though twelve weeks is advised for committee review.

Funding Range

The maximum award for a Community Grant is £500 per project, sometimes paid as cash, vouchers, or both.
