Persimmon Community Champions

It is a funding programme provided by Persimmon Homes to support local good causes and community initiatives, with funding decisions made through Persimmon’s network of local offices. It’s easy to apply and thousands of groups and charities have already benefitted from the initiative.

Eligible Organisations

Community groups and charities in the UK are able to apply, so ensure your school is a registered charity before you submit your form. Eligible applicants also include voluntary groups, community organisations, sports clubs, and educational establishments across the United Kingdom.

Suitable Projects

The scheme aims to find ‘local good causes’ and so a range of projects will be considered, which can include educational and school-related activities, projects that enhance educational provision, improve facilities, or deliver direct benefits to students and the wider school community. Previous projects which were awarded funding include turning a disused swimming pool into a school garden and helping a junior rugby club to throw a New Years Eve party.

Application Process

There is a simple online form that needs to be filled in with details about the project and the school. You will also need to explain why your school deserves the donation. Applicants must also state how much funding they are seeking and provide location and contact details so the application can be directed to the relevant local Persimmon office.

Important Dates

Funding is awarded on a monthly basis so the application form can be submitted at any time during the year. Each of Persimmon’s 30 regional offices, as well as the PLC head office, awards funding on a quarterly basis.

Funding Range

Grant levels vary, with up to £6,000 per quarter available from each of Persimmon’s 30 offices, and past awards to schools ranging from £1,000 to £5,000.
