Moto in the Community Trust

The Moto in the Community Trust is the grant and charitable part of the UK motorway service area company, Moto Hospitality. It collects donations at service stations and uses the money to fund their charity of the year, local community partners and community schools.

Eligible Organisations

The following conditions exist for eligible organisations to apply.

  • The organisation is a charity or community school within a 15 mile radius of a Moto site
  • Moto staff will have an opportunity to be involved in the project
  • Support will be provided for Moto fundraising events

Community interest companies (CICs) and other not-for-profit organisations may also apply, and all applications must have the endorsement of a Moto colleague, including their name and contact details.

Suitable Projects

No specific project types are listed, but projects must be community charity or community school based. Projects should benefit the local community, support community engagement, and align with charitable aims, while not promoting religion or politics.

Application Process

There are three separate online application forms for approved partners, Moto employees applying on behalf of partners, or organisations applying directly. All applications are online, and the relevant guidance must be read and followed. Applicants will receive an email to confirm receipt, and the approval process can take up to eight weeks.

Important Dates

There are no fixed deadlines, and applications can be made at any time. All applications must include a Moto colleague endorsement to be considered.

Funding Range

The average grant given is £1,000, with larger grants awarded for strong applications. Higher awards may be agreed where there is clear commitment from both the Moto site and the project partner.
