Heathrow Community Fund – Communities Together
The Heathrow Community Fund is a grant-making charity trust, with the money being raised through the activities of Heathrow Airport. They support community improvements in areas near to and affected by, the operations of Heathrow airport. Five grants exist, with the two most relevant included within this document. The Communities Together grant is aimed at boosting how communities work together.
Eligible Organisations
The following organisations may apply:
- Charities
- Voluntary groups
- Schools
- Colleges
- Local authorities
- Community Interest Companies
The organisation must be delivering the project in Ealing, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Slough or Spelthorne, with some programmes also covering nearby boroughs such as Richmond, Runnymede, South Bucks, Windsor and Maidenhead.
Suitable Projects
The following projects are examples of what may be applicable for funding:
- Creating a community garden
- Starting an arts festival
- A project to improve local community spirit
- Benefiting the elderly who suffer from loneliness
- Improving health and fitness communities
- Street clean-ups
Application Process
Applications are made through a single-stage online process using the form on the Trust’s website. Applicants are advised to read the Grantmaking Guidelines, and projects must not start until funding is confirmed and paperwork is complete.
Important Dates
- Communities Together Small opens 2 January 2026 and closes 12 February 2026, with decisions on 30 April 2026.
- Communities Together Large opens 19 February 2026 and closes 9 April 2026, with decisions on 25 June 2026.
Projects must start within three months of the decision date.
Funding Range
Communities Together Small offers up to £5,000 per year, while Communities Together Large can fund up to £15,000 for larger projects.
