The Dan Maskell Tennis Trust
The Trust supports grassroots disability tennis by providing specialist wheelchairs, equipment, and limited support for coaching and court hire, with a strong focus on increasing participation for people with disabilities across the UK.
Eligible Organisations
Organisations such as special schools, disability clubs, groups and associations can apply. Individuals are also able to apply for funding, including coaches. The trust supports all disabilities including learning disabilities, deafness, physical impairment etc. Applicants must be UK citizens resident in the UK.
Suitable Projects
The grants are available for specialist equipment and wheelchairs that enable disabled people to play tennis. Funding may also support court hire (including indoor facilities), and LTA-licensed coaching fees. Transport, clothing, administration and electronic equipment are not eligible.
Application Process
Applications can be made online on the website. There are separate application forms for individuals and for groups/clubs/projects, grants are paid on a reimbursement basis, and a short report is required when claiming payment. Organisations that have received funding for the same purpose within the last two years are normally ineligible.
Important Dates
The Trust meets four times per year, with funding rounds typically closing in February, May, August and October.
For 2026, key deadlines include 1 February, 10 May, 3 August and 26 October.
Funding Range
Current maximum awards are up to £1,600 per group, club or project and up to £600 per individual. Applicants seeking tennis wheelchairs are required to contribute £250 per chair, with the Trust covering the remaining cost.
