St Augustine's Roman Catholic High School is a large secondary school in Billington, Clitheroe. The school caters for over 1,100 students between the ages of 11 and 16. With such a large number of students, the school wanted to improve its outdoor facilities. At busy times, dining halls and social spaces became crowded, and the children had limited covered areas outside. The leadership team was keen to find a solution that created more sheltered space for eating, relaxing, and socialising. They needed something practical, long-lasting, and in keeping with the school environment.

A&S Landscape worked closely with St Augustine’s RC High School to design and install four Motiva Duo™ canopies. These structures were carefully chosen to meet the school’s needs. The steel framework was finished in RAL 3004 red, reflecting the school’s colours and creating a striking visual impact. The canopies were roofed with opal polycarbonate to provide excellent light diffusion and weather protection.
The four canopies were installed in key locations around the school:
Together, these canopies created an extensive covered space. Hundreds of pupils can now sit outside, even during wet weather. The structures were designed with strength in mind, ensuring they can cope with the school’s busy daily schedule.
The canopy installations at St Augustine’s RC High School have transformed the school’s outdoor spaces. Pupils now have plenty of sheltered areas for eating and socialising, reducing pressure on indoor dining halls.
The robust design of the Motiva Duo™ canopies ensures they will last for many years, while their bold red steelwork strengthens the school’s visual identity. This project shows how a practical canopy solution can have a big impact on the daily life of students and staff.
A&S Landscape was proud to help St Augustine’s achieve its goal of creating a better environment for the whole school community.
