Ford Britain Trust

Ford Britain Trust aims to change communities for the better, through education and advancement of its local neighbours. They focus on supporting children, the environment, the disabled, youth activities, education and projects which clearly demonstrate community improvements. The Trust has supported local communities since 1975 and works across the UK, with extra focus on areas near Ford sites.

 

Eligible Organisations

  • Registered charities
  • Non-fee paying or state sector schools / parent teacher associations
  • Not-for-profit organisations

Applications are open across the UK, but projects near Ford locations in Essex, East London, Bridgend, Southampton, Daventry, Manchester, and Liverpool are given priority.

Suitable Projects

  • Contributions to capital projects (e.g. refurbishments)
  • Capital expenditure items (e.g. furniture/equipment/computers)
  • Contributions towards the purchase of new Ford Vehicles
  • General funds

Projects must offer clear community benefits, and core running costs, major building works, overseas travel, political or religious projects are not funded.

Application Process

Guidance and an application form are available on the Trust website, and forms can be returned by email or post. Applications must be sent to [email protected] and are reviewed at Trustee meetings, with decisions being final.

Important Dates

Two grants are available. 

  • Small grants can be applied for three times a year during April to June, August to October, and December to February. 
  • Large grant applications are open March to July and September to January, with reviews later in the year.

Funding Range

Two grants are available, with small grants up to £250 and large grants between £250 and £3,000. Funding is usually a one-off donation for a specific capital item, such as equipment, furniture, or computers.
