Morpeth First School in Northumberland Add Playground Canopy
Newtown Primary School is a voluntary controlled Church of England Primary School in Newtown, Near Wem, Shropshire. Newtown has a nursery and reception class who love to be outdoors! A&S Landscape was delighted to work with Newtown Primary School again, having been employed to install another canopy previously in the same outdoor area.
Ultramarine Blue - RAL NO. 5002
We selected another Motiva Duo canopy as this was to be linked to the previous canopy of the same design in the early years outdoor area. A&S Landscape was able to link the drainage into existing pipes with minimal disruption and ensuring that cost savings were made where possible. The steelwork matched as well in Marine Blue (RAL 5002) and the roof was Opal polycarbonate. Newtown Primary School were happy with the swift, efficient installation and remarked on how well the site team operated. The canopy also had matching post pads, bringing both canopies in line nicely.
Now children and staff alike have covered entrances and a large sheltered area in which to play, socialise, learn and enjoy some fresh air, whatever the weather. Children in the nursery and reception class really value the chance to be outside during the school day, running off steam and learning about mini beasts. This new space means that this is increasingly possible throughout the year. A very welcome addition!
Classrooms have long been the environment of choice for a huge amount of schools, but the perks of outdoor learning are quickly being observed. You may possibly think that it’s not accomplishable, especially with the unstable British weather, but with a shelter, teaching outdoors can become a reality. With a large number of measurements available for numerous uses, any school can install a shelter to repurpose any outdoor area into a new kind of classroom.
For school children, new environments can enthral and thrill, producing an increased capability to take in new information. At a young age, average classrooms can provide minimal stimulation for children and educational growth can become stunted. By exploring the use of outdoor teaching, children can find original and engaging ways of learning. Fresh air, and the capacity to teach in a much larger space, can open up new doors to the manner that lessons are taught and the work which can be completed.

“We are really pleased, the site team were quick and they made sure of a good quality finish. We have used A&S Landscape a few times now and because they installed the original canopy they were able to make this seamless addition.”
