Imperial College London didn’t have an area where pushchairs could be stored at their early years centre. A&S Landscape worked with the staff to design a shelter which would provide protection from the weather.
A Cyclo Buggy was installed at the nursery, outside one of the buildings. Measuring 6000mm X 2800mm, there is plenty of room for multiple pushchairs to be stored at once. The opal polycarbonate roofing works perfectly with the anthracite grey steelwork to create a subtle, modern effect.
From wet wintery mornings to hot sunny afternoons, the shelter will provide protection from the elements. The hinged doors allow the staff to fully close off the store, so no rain can get inside and no prams can be blown around in the wind.
Already the store has been a hugely popular addition to the centre, as parents can now leave their buggy there during the day knowing it will be safe and secure. Over the holidays, the shelter could also be used to store play equipment, saving valuable storage space inside. The early years centre prides itself on how they nurture and inspire their children, and so they only want the best facilities for their grounds.
