“The quality of the canopy is lovely, it’s very simple and exactly what we wanted and does what we want it to. The canopy covers the area outside the reception unit and is used as an outdoor classroom for the 70 children in the unit. They love it. There was nothing before so to go from literally nothing to having a lovely outdoor space is wonderful for them and it’s been well resourced as part of an outdoor project. Any little niggles we had were resolved to my satisfaction very quickly and I would definitely recommend A&S Landscape to another school.”

The Benefits Of Outdoor Learning on Students and Teachers

There are a deal of benefits of learning outdoors which help students as well as staff. A factor that is frequently neglected is the teacher’s enjoyment of teaching lessons and how the freedom to teach outside can be just as enthralling for them as it is for class. Being in an outdoor surrounding is healthy and creates positivity for teachers which is commonly reflected in their lessons and the way they teach. If a teacher is uninspired, that lack of eagerness can carry over into their lessons but putting them in contact with nature can thoroughly adjust the way they picture teaching.

A contented teacher is a effective teacher and one that is passionate about educating children. Introducing a shelter into a school gives both teachers and pupils a chance to explore this together and brings with it a positive sense of freedom. Increasing engagement in school is something every teacher is looking to do and with an canopy from A&S Landscape, it’s made much simpler. The more captivated students are with their learning, the more their skills develop and the more assured they become in their abilities.

Being outdoors instead of inside a building, or mundane classroom, all day contributes to a healthy relationship with nature and helps children to grow up with an understanding for living things. Educating children about nature is not necessarily something that is included as part of a curriculum, but it is part of life and an important part of their development as a human being.
